No war in Rwenzori but political misunderstanding says Mike Mukula,

KASESE: There’s no war in Rwenzori but there’s need to investigate what is happening since Bakonzo, basongora, banyabindi and bamba have been closely living together for many years but no war was reported in the entire Rwenzori.

Speaking to thousands of people who had gathered at Rwenzori square to pray for peace “ under the theme “efforts on peace and reconciliation in Rwenzori region” organised by the inter religious council following killings that happened in the entire Rwenzori region which has left more than 40 people dead and 52 orphans in kasese district Capt. Micheal Mukula narrated that the problem has been investigated that the political leaders have destroyed the peace that was in the district by separating people who had solid unity that has kept development in the district for years.

“The problem needs a political solution not guns because the bakonzo, Basongora and Bamba are closely related who even fought to liberate from the colonialist and the Batoro to get Semuliki and Rwenzori district during Amini’s regime why fight now” mukala asked.

Mukula narrated that the region is know a battle field where by before independence the there was Rwenzururu rebellion, National resistance army (NRA), national army for the liberation of Uganda (Nalu), Allied democratic forces (ADF) such wars had left the area unstable but currently the area had regained peace and all tribes were working together without violence.

He added that fighting stated recently when political leaders started involving people in land through poor distribution and marginalization that sparked down wars in the Rwenzori and minority people were given protection leaving owners of the distributed land without any to benefit them.

“Why is it happening now after distributing badly land in the district why was the fight not their” he asked.

He appealed to Abura Deo the Rwenzori east RPC to immediately withdraw the flying squad and use dialogues since there’s need to sit as Ugandans and find ways on how it can be solved but not pointing at each other as it has been happening and use of Guns to settle conflicts.

The preacher who turned the crowed with words of peace Retired Pr. Nassanel Walemba reading from Matthew 5:8,9 which says blessed are the peace makers because they shall be called the sons and daughters of God, blessed are those whose duties are aimed at peace for the lord shall call them his children.

Walemba narrated that the meaning of peace is much more from the peace that people talk about it more than seeing wars that people talk about but it’s all about caring for the needy, the hungry people those lacking houses to sleep, people suffering get to that then peace will be prevailed to maximum and one will be blessed.

Walemba added that people may think the situation only concerns those affected but this concerns every one basing on the fact that if one is a business man and people are running away he or she has no clients to sell product to since everyone is fleeing for his life.
“An eye for an eye will make every one blind” walemba quoted

If revenge becomes a talk of the day no one will survive.

The prayer was attended by all bishops from different denominations, the RDC, Mayor, division chairpersons, elected chairperson Five and members of parliament.

However early the Rwenzururu prime minister had asked Mukula to explain why matters of peace discussed are not under consideration yet big people talk about them, giving an example that when Mukula came on Saturday peace issues were discussed but on Sunday six people were shoot at the palace as they tried to arrest someone from the palace.

Omusinga Attributes Yira Republic Creation on His Subjects In Eastern DR-Congo

Omusinga Attributes Yira Republic Creation on His Subjects In Eastern DR-Congo.
kasese:  Yira republic has been a word that has caused chaos in the entire Rwenzori where every attack done in the region many people say those people want an independent state instead of attributing the fight to affecting factors and marginalisation in the Rwenzori region.
“According to how popular I am and how my subjects responds to me when I speak if I tell them that we are aiming at Yira don’t you think it can be a terrible situation in Rwenzori but we don’t have any idea about it” Omusinga said.

In a press briefing with other kings who had visited the palace Omusinga attributed the Yira issue on those Bakonzo who are in Eastern Congo and are marginalized by the country since most of them subscribe to Uganda and more services are got from Uganda.

He added that as a kingdom they have no a gender of making an independent state which but whoever wants to fight the kingdom have continued to use the Word Yira so that the president can look at the Bakonzo as bad people.

“How can I fight the government do I have that capacity, even the president whom I call him my counterpart went to the bush because he could make it when he is still in the country when other leaders are looking at him like that, why have not run away if I want another state as the president did it” Omusinga asked.
Most of the people in eastern Congo have for years been subscribing to services in the because congo government doesn’t mind about them so such marginalized people have continue to ask to part from Congo but nothing has been done to address their problems.
Omusinga added that it took long to recongnise the obusinga not because the government didn’t want but the enemies of the kingdom have continued to attribute Yira to the Bakonzo in Uganda, those enemies have continued to design maps, and create its cabinets so that when one looks at it will feel as if its true.
“We always hear the word Yira from people coming from Kampala and the Maps drown for Yira are designed from there but my subjects and my cabinet ministers in the kingdom have no a gender but the president has listened to those people in Kampala and take it as serious things which are malicious statements that injures the reputation of the kingdom” Omusinga Mumbere said.
“I love my people and I don’t want them to die that’s in 1962 I left the bush mountains and told my subjects to end the war and Go back to school to fight ignorance and agitate for peace in Uganda” Omusinga further said.
However in the press briefing held at state house Njara in kabarole by the president one journalist asked him about Yira Republic he told them there’s a certain group of people in DR Congo agitating for an independent state giving an example of the other banyakole in Congo such can be in Congo but not Uganda.
“if they want to make a state in congo let them talk to Joseph Kabila but here in Uganda no single drop of  sand will be given out” Museveni said.

Deputy DHO Speaks Out On Congestion At Fort Portal Referral

By MORIS MUMBERE
e-SOCIETY

KABAROLE: Deputy DHO Speaks Out On Congestion At Fort Portal Referral.

The Deputy District Health Officer Kabarole Sister Susan Manimake has spoken out on the congestion at Fort Portal Regional referral hospital.

Last week the district paid impromptu visit to Fort Portal referral hospital following allegations of corruption, negligence and incompetence among the health workers.

During the meeting Dr.Charles Olara the Medical superintendent told the leaders that the health workers were overwhelmed by the big number of patients visiting the hospital.

Dr.Olara revealed that most of the patients flooding the hospital have signs of simple cases that would be handled at lower health centers IIs,IIIs and IVs.

Fort-Portal hospital serves the districts of Kabarole, Ntoroko, Bundibugyo, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa, Kamwenge and Kibale and according to the medical superintendent , the hospital receives about 2000 patients daily.

This he says it’s a burden to a small number of health workers to handle such huge number of patients.

Now, the deputy D.H.O Kabarole Sr.Manimake Susan discloses that over 600 mothers deliver at Fort Portal hospital every month. She attributes this number to the mothers who fail to utilize the Health center IIIs and IVs that offer the same services.

Sr.Manimake says the only way to decongest Fort Portal hospital is to use lower health centers, strengthening their supervision and provision of accommodation facilities for medics to enable them stay at stations and execute their duties effectively.

She was responding to questions raised by Civil Society Organizations during their quarterly forum at Kitumba district headquarters on Tuesday that was organized by Tooro Dev.

Why kill and call them rebels yet you trained them Kasese political leaders ask Kayihura.

Why kill and call them rebels yet you trained them Kasese political leaders ask Kayihura.

By Moris Mumbere

KASESE:  "A team of 11 soldiers came in 2012 they were putting on black uniform sent by the IGP after a request i made to the inspector general of police to train the royal guards for me am wandering why they are called rebels" Omusinga said in an interview.

The Rwenzururu king has added his voice following the killings in Kasese district were political leaders both elect and losers have gathered to combine effort on how they can build peace in the region following incidents that have continued to occur where over fifteen people have been killed by police officers in the district.
https://ssl.gstatic.com/ui/v1/icons/mail/images/cleardot.gif

“am wondering why the IGP does not take concern of his people killing those that he trained, imagine he trained over 86 royal guards at the site where the royal palace is to be constructed and his the same person who made a statement during the July 5th attack on TV asking who trained them how first has he forgotten” elected member of parliament Jackson Mbaju Katika said.

In a dialogue workshop under the theme “United we stand together, divided we fall together” held at catholic bishops hall where several analysts, Kasese catholic Bishop, Kasese protestant bishop, inter-religious council committee sheiks, KRC, both NRM and FDC local councilors, chairperson three and five, members of parliament both winners and losers had gathered for a common cause asking on the a way to make a better Kasese of peace, unity, without bloodshed.
As an analyst and a member of parliament elected Mbaju asked whether matters of peace discussed with the inspector general of police with stake holders are considered or he just comes in Kasese to make accountability before the president.
“after coronation a term of officers from kampala come to Kasese sent by the IGP to train the royal guards, the term was assisted by royal police officers whom the president gave to the king but among those trained one Yofesi Maate Mugoye is killed now what’s this” relatives said.
Mbaju remembered the meeting they held with the IGP and the Rwenzururu king at Margarita hotel where the king asked the IGP to always communicate to the king in case there’s any of the royal guards suspected to be destabilizing peace in the region so that he is handed over peacefully without putting his life to death but police has resisted and continued killing without clear reasons why royal guards are killed.
Mbaju further identified personal benefits which is killing our district where by the few people who the inspector general meet are the people who can’t reveal any statement to the people affected.
“When the IGP comes in the district he meets the elected Kasese municipal mayor, the chairperson five Mr. sibendire Bigogo they share what he had at pocket but fail to reach at those affected individually to hear their views but later to hear on radios that the IGP was here and said this and this without getting the view of the people affected”. Mbaju observed.
In Kasese since election over 13 people have been killed by police including one police officer where five of the killed are royal guards and others arrested whom eye witness see and police has not revealed the cause of arrest.
Among those who died are Nason Bwambale he survived with two wives and five children.  Jockus Musalira, he survived by one wife and three children.  James Wayakwa he survived with three children and one a wife. Saleri Kake he survived by one widow and nine children.  Uziah Mumbere Nyamingyi survived by three wives and 21 children, He was killed during night attack on a joint patrol of UPDF and Police in Hima town council. Geoffrey Kasimba a police man who was killed at Kidodo police post he survived by one wife and six children, Muhindo Donat he survived by one wife and one child, Kule Muzamiru a thirteen year old boy who was shot three times by soldiers at the tally Centre on 19th during the delay to declare the winners in the recent parliamentary and presidential candidates
Yesterday March 31, 2016 Yofesi Maate Mugoye a royal guard and a quarter master in the Buhukira Royal Palace was killed broad day light as he had been sent to buy food and was allegedly targeted by a flying squad who were travelling in a Subaru car Registration number UAW 090F at at  Sauliyako market after a quarrel with them.
Mbaju said all these are born Ugandan, blood of African but why continue without finding possible way of addressing this,
In a press briefing today at police headquarters in Kampala the IGP defended
police action of killing the Obusinga Bwarwenzururu royal guard
yesterday describing it as an act of self defense.

Kayihura says that late Yofesi Mugoye could have not been killed
should he have humbled himself before the police flying squad that conducted arrest on him outside Sauriyako market in Kasese town.

The Inspector General of police, who was addressing press at the police headquarters in Naguru-Kampala this afternoon, explained that the flying squad was working on information that the victim was part of assailants who attacked Kidodo police station and killed one policeofficer and took off with police gun which is up to now still missing.

In trying to execute the arrest against him by the flying squad, Kayihura says Mugoye reacted negatively and attempted to grab a gun from the flying squad, a situation he said led to the shooting at him before he died.
However the Obusinga Bwarwenzururu King His Majesty Charles Wesley Mumbere has a different version of the story, insisting that thecontinuous targeting of his royal guards has a hidden agenda.

Omusinga Mumbere blames the state for using police to intimidate and kill his subjects whom he say are innocent of whatever is going onwith the unrest in the Rwenzori region especially Kasese district.

Mumbere adds that the option police has taken of killing civilians openly will not help to calm the situation in the region but rather may further escalate the situation.
Mbaju further condemned most religious leaders who used to tell Christians to vote certain persons saying there our church member which started division in most churches during campaign forgetting that some church members are relative to same candidates.
He however advised those behind this killing game to stop because if ever one is to revenge in that order then relatives will react negatively.
The elected chairperson five Geoffrey Sibendire Bigogo observed that there’s a game played by political leaders who are in power how comes the violence in Hima reach to Buhuhira killing three yet no connection of the election in these two sub counties, and there after police connects the killings to the kingdom? Was the king connected to who the citizens should vote, how comes royal guard are being affected in such condition. Why haven’t the incumbent chairpersons LC5 for the district, Rt.Lt. Col. Mawa Muhindo and the losing Members of parliament make a public address to the people?
“There’s a driving power behind these killings and royal guard arrests which the incumbent leaders don’t want to address” Bigogo said.
The bishop of South Rwenzori diocese, the rt.rev. Jackson Thembo Nzerebende condemned the act done by police of kidnapping royal guards in form of arresting which has caused more threats to people of Kasese.
“How do you came to me not in uniform, no identification and a warrant of arrest so that i can know that am in safe hands since the person is attached to police in steady of kidnapping me especially while in town” bishop said.
He advised police to find ways of arresting people because it might be done in open and leaves others especially in markets to fight back.
The catholic bishop Francis Acqurinous Kibira urged politicians to find possible ways of solving issues rather than attacking government which might not be a solution to same issues.
The Muslim sheikh Nasib Musenene in his presentation of political, social and economic behavior urged government to know the solidarity of bakonzo who are always determined when the decede on what they want until they achieve it no matter the poor situation that government may push them which he used to request the Bakonzo to use in order to promote peace in the district.
Tear gas is never a solution to some issues in the country but instability in the district.
The FDC chairperson Saul Maate once in a press conference said, the term of those in leadership of the district will be ending after the new elected people swear in but all this that is happening in Kasese noon of them have reacted.
Utilities:
Who trained them?
According to some kingdom official who asked to be unanimous revealed that after coronation the IGP sent a group of officer to train royal guards and after training the kindom official received a certificate of pass out of 86 members to assist on security in the kingdom.
End.

MIKE MUKULA MEETS OMUSINGA AGREE ON DIALOGUE

“am pledging to ask the president to withdraw the heavily deployment force called flying scode in different places in the region so that we can use dialogue means to settle the problem” Mukula said

Dr. Fit. George Captain Michael Mukula, the National Vice Chairman NRM Eastern on-behalf of government said this in a press brief with the Rwenzururu Kingdom, His Majesty Charles Wesley Mumbere after a two hour close meeting at the royal palace in Kasese district.

Mukala obsevered that the clashes in the region are not tribal but political which he pledged to address to the president so that peace can be prevailed in rwenzori, he further said polical issues are not settled by killing innocent people instead dialogues which can put things right.

“we have shared deep ways on how we can address the matter but I call for total peace and one will use the kingdom as a way of causing insecurity in the region” mukula narrated.

He is in plan to make the two kings meet at mweya hotel so that the two can share the ideas that bring differences in the region so that the escalating issues be handled instead of showing reactions by killing each other inform of revenge.

Mukula observed that most people in the region are farmers and the season has started if the political issues continue to develop in the region then poverty and hunger may kill many people in the district.

The Rwenzururu king charle Mumbere Irema-ngoma said for many occasions they have met with different stake holders and security officers on how to handle this issues but go contralley on what discussed which has continued to disatablise peace in the region,

“Of recent i asked the IGP to withdraw all deployments in the region so that people can not leave in panic insteady he deployed and brought the so called flying scared which has killed and shoot in brood day light to same royal guard yet I asked him to inform me if he identifies any bad element among those royal guards so that I can freely hand him over to the him instead of killing” omusinga said.

He asked the President for a dialogue and an independent commissioner of inquiry in ascertaining possible measures to end the violence in the Rwenzori region.

Mumbere however attributed issues related to the current escalating killings to people with unidentified motives but quickly added that Obusinga is committed to work with the president and security agencies toensure peace and stability.

“There are wrong elements spoiling my name by giving false information to government tarnishing the image of Obusinga” Mumbere said.

Omusinga who says they are un-finished issues that need to be addressed in trust of an independent commissioner of inquiry condemns the heavy deployment in the region.

I’M READY TO SUE TOORO KINGDOM IF THEY CHANGE MUCWA INTO A HOTEL-SAYS TOORO PRONOUNCED KING.

by MORIS MUMBERE,
e-SOCIETY

I’m ready to sue Tooro Kingdom if they change Mucwa into a hotel-says Tooro pronounced King.

Kabarole: The self pronounced King of Toro Price David Kijanangoma has vowed to take on the kingdom if they dare change the Tooro kingdom administration block into a hotel.
“Let them not dare sale our Tooro heritage, My late grandfather George Rukidi built this block with people, how comes that they want to sale it now”
“Un confirmed information reveal that the Administration block was leased to an investor longtime ago but time has come to develop it and they require a resolution of Tooro Kingdom parliament and which they have passed”

Kijanangoma said that by Law the injunction pronounced by King Oyo is not binding because what is important is the Kingdom parliament
resolution, the injunction is just a shadow and fear for external pressure from Batooro.
Addressing a press conference at Balya Road at his offices, He said that these are some of the reasons that made him denounce King Oyo as the king of Tooro.
He appealed to the Batooro not to accept the resolution of selling their cultural heritage facility.
